GEOL 1403 General Physical Geology (4,3,3).
An investigation into the processes that shape the solid earth, including the
formation of minerals and rocks, volcanism, erosion and sedimentation, mountain
building, earthquakes, landform evolution, glaciation, and the motion of the
continents.
GEOL 1404 General Historical Geology (4,3,3).
Investigates the rock and fossil record to unravel the history of the
continents, oceans, and life on earth. Topics include relative and absolute
dating, stratigraphy, the evolution of life, and geologic history with an
emphasis on North America.
Prerequisite: GEOL 1403 or permission of instructor.
