Sound Science Bite: March 26, 2012. Surprisingly, closure on the faster than light neutrinos has come quickly. A loose cable that could have caused a timing error was found by the OPERA team that reported the superfast neutrinos. That timing error could be responsible for making it appear the neutrinos were faster than light ("superluminal"). Another detector at the same laboratory as the OPERA experiment, called ICARUS, has timed neutrinos emitted from CERN and found they did not travel faster than light. It appears the case is closed (unless something else unexpected rears up).

If you don't have your equation sheet, look in the plastic slot outside my office door.
